Dramatic increase in Canadian Bed Bug Infestations
September 19, 2013A recent survey examines the increase in bed infestations in Canada.
Abell Pest Control commissioned COMPASS Research to survey 67 Canadian public health inspectors about bed bugs. Over the past three years, reports of bed bug infestations rose anywhere from 20 to 50 percent, with an average of 8 percent per year. Needless to say, this is a dramatic increase.
Various reasons were suggested for the increase in infestations, including lack of knowledge and resources by building managers and the public, as well as, local governments not addressing the issue.
